Millions of IT professionals around the world rely on APC by Schneider Electric's Smart-UPSTM series to protect equipment and critical data from costly interruptions by supplying reliable, network-grade power reliably and efficiently. There is a model for practically any application and budget available in a number of form factors and classes (entry level, standard, and extended run). Standard variants are the most widely used UPS systems in the world for commercial servers, storage, and network equipment and have long been regarded as the gold standard in terms of reliability and manageability. Small and medium-sized enterprises looking to protect small networking devices, point-of-sale (POS) equipment, and entry-level servers can consider entry-level Smart-UPS products. The extended-run variants use external battery modules for prolonged runtime to power essential servers, security, and communication systems during hours-long outages.
Adjustable voltage sensitivity allows the UPS to be tailored for optimal performance in specific power environments or generator applications, while adjustable voltage-transfer points extend useful battery life by widening the input voltage window or tightening output voltage regulation.
Power conditioning protects connected loads from surges, spikes, lightning, and other power disruptions, while intelligent battery management improves battery performance, life, and dependability through intelligent, precision charging. By rectifying low and high voltage conditions without utilising the battery, boost and trim automatic voltage regulation (AVR) increases application availability (not available on all models). A disconnected battery notification alerts you when a battery is no longer available for backup power. An automatic periodic battery self-test detects when a battery needs to be replaced. After a UPS shutdown, the linked equipment is immediately restarted when utility power is restored. Temperature-compensated battery charging extends battery life by adjusting the charge voltage based on the battery's temperature.
Serial communication allows for UPS control through a serial port, LED status indicators help you understand unit and power status via visual indications, and auditory alarms alert you to changing utility power and UPS conditions. Network manageability allows for remote power management of the UPS via the network, while USB connectivity allows for UPS management via a USB port (not available on all models).
Predictive failure notification ensures proactive component replacement by providing early-warning fault analysis. User-replaceable hot-swappable batteries provide clean, uninterrupted power to protected equipment while the batteries are being replaced, and availability is increased by allowing a trained user to perform battery upgrades and replacements, lowering the Mean Time to Repair. Battery failure notification allows for early-warning fault analysis on batteries, allowing for timely preventive maintenance, and resettable circuit breakers allow for quick recovery from overload events.
