Generator Service Engineer
Due to continued growth and investment, we are looking for an experienced diesel generator service engineer to be office based and also required externally.
Role Description:
Working both in the field and at HQ, you will be required to carry out planned servicing, repairs, upgrades and breakdown response work at customer sites on generators from 10–2500kVA. The role will also require you to provide commercial estimates to meet specifications.
Primary On Road Tasks:
- Maintenance on generators to include all relevant electrical and mechanical testing
- Fault diagnosis and rectification
- Installation & commissioning of temporary/permanent generators
- Load bank towing and testing
- Control system wiring
- Site surveys to assist project sales
- Participation in the company on call rota
- Complete and submit accurate reports in a timely manner
Primary Office Tasks:
- Upon receipt of opportunities for generators and associated products and services, complete technical quotation submittals to meet specification
- Answer technical questions about generator enquiries and complete technical submittals on generator solutions including data on engine, canopy, alternator, etc.
- Attend meetings, where required to present proposals
Qualifications:
- Served a recognised apprenticeship as a mechanical/electrical engineer
- Electrical engineering IEE regs - 17th Edition (beneficial)
- Part P (beneficial)
- The ideal candidate will be an experienced generator field service engineer with past exposure to FG Wilson, Perkins or similar brands
You will have:
- Strong knowledge of all electrical and mechanical aspects of generator power installations
- First class customer facing skills and good communication skills
- No criminal record
- Flexibility to meet requirements of service operations
- Relevant experience in a similar role
